It all starts with reading
For many of us, reading comes as second nature. Learning to read, after all, is part of a normal academic curriculum. However, for many young people, women making the bulk of this population, learning to read was not a given because education was, in one way or another, relegated to the sidelines in favor of taking on jobs early.
Our Read to Achieve Literacy Program strives to address this issue. We believe reading is the first and one of the keys to achieving literacy. In this program, we provide the women under our care with the tools and guidance to learn how to read and to comprehend what they read.
